Church History

The Dreamers! Ah, how great it is to believe in a dream. The greatest realization at the end of the day is to say, “Ah the dream is true.”

So it was that a group of baptized believers in Christ dreamed of a Church in which Saints could worship. With the aid of the congregation of the Wilderness Baptist Church (Plank Rd/Rte3), their dreams were realized. Zion Hill Baptist Church was planted in the year of our Lord, October 1880 in Spotsylvania County, Virginia.
The Reverend R.B. Townes became the first pastor. The first building was built across the road from the present building. Mr. William Cook gave three acres of land for this construction.
